

When preparing a file for a print house, you usually prepare it in CMYK color mode. However, home printers are set to use RGB color profiles.
Before learning this fact, I used to work in RGB, then convert to CMYK, and then send to the printer. When you send your home printer a CMYK file, it will automatically convert it into RGB before printing it. So in my case, that would be a redundant double conversion, with possibly loss of color detail.
